The Minnesota Department of Human Services manages the Adoption Archives, which are a cross- index record of adoptions that Minnesota granted dating back to 1856. The Adoption Archives contain vital information on adoptive parents, adopted children, birth, adopted siblings, and the court that originally granted the adoption.  Private courts, private adoption agencies, and county social service agencies provide documents for each adoption to the department.  You can contact the Adoption Archives by writing them at, Sandy LeMire, Dept. of Human Services, family and Children’s Services, 444 Lafayette Rd, St. Paul, MN 55144- 3831 (651) 296- 2795.  Please make sure your request has been signed and the following information is included:
