In 1983 the Voluntary Adoption Registry was developed to assist adoptees, biological siblings, birth parents, and individuals who are eligible on becoming educated on adoptions that were finalized in Oregon.  The registry has a system of preserving confidentiality and honoring the right to privacy while communicating information.  The agency holds the responsibility in the state of Oregon of maintaining records on every adoption dating back to the early 1920s.
