Alabama vital records are available through the state office. As of June 1996, all 67 counties are able to access a statewide computer system. Authorized applicants are able to go to any county health department to receive Alabama birth certificates, Alabama death certificates, Alabama marriage licenses and Alabama divorce decrees. This allows people to receive Alabama vital records within a few minutes. County offices are not prepared to handle mail, so customers outside of the state are urged to contact the Alabama state office. |
