The Rhode Island state office carries vital death records for 50 years and carries vital birth and marriage records for 100 years.  If you require records for an earlier date then you can write to the town/city clerk where the actual event originally occurred or to the Rhode Island State Archives at 337 W. Minister St, Providence, Rhode Island 02903.  If you require additional copies of the same record at the same time then they are $10 each.
